The Salida Mountain Trails are part of a larger project to build miles of singletrack loops right from downtown Salida.  We start riding straight from the Absolute Bikes shop and climb into the red rocks and pinion pines of the Arkansas Hills just north of Salida on the opposite side of the Arkansas River from the shop.  The trails vary in difficulty and we customize the loop for each group based on skill and time.  Regardless of what loop we ride, each one treats us to great views of the 14,000 foot Collegiate Peaks to the west and the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the south.  This is the local trail playground for Salidans, designed and built with mountain biking in mind, and it doesn’t disappoint.
