We start this ride at the base of mighty Mount Shavano (14,229 feet) near the remains of historic Blank’s Cabin.  After a short hike-a-bike and punchy climb we’ll traverse through wildflower meadows, continuing north on the famed singletrack of the Colorado Trail.  The trail dips and twists, quickly alternating between climbing and descending. One moment we are tucked back into a drainage with huge aspen trees looming above us – then we burst out into high meadows with great views of the valley below and the Collegiate Peaks above. We savor this singletrack roller coaster through pine and aspen forests until we reach Raspberry Gulch. This is the base of Mount Antero (14,275 feet), with Mount Princeton (14,196 feet) and the Chalk Cliffs directly ahead. One last climb, followed by a killer descent, brings us to the steaming pools of Mt. Princeton hot springs.  After an epic ride, we’ll soak our tired bones in the geothermal waters and then shuttle back to Salida.
