After shuttling from Salida to Buena Vista we will begin our ride up and over Aspen Ridge. This beautiful backcountry dirt road will take us through high open meadows, past interesting rock formations, and through picturesque aspen groves. From our high point we’ll enjoy views of the Arkansas Valley, Browns Canyon National Monument, the Collegiate Peaks, and Sangre de Cristo mountains. And remember, what goes up, must come down. The descent back to Salida is worth every bit of effort and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. This is an exceptional gravel route, especially beautiful in the fall. Don’t forget your camera!

Miles: 40

Duration:  5-6 hours, with additional 45 minute shuttle to ride start.

Difficulty: Intermediate. The ride is 100% on dirt road, but there are some strenuous climbs and loose descents.

Trail: Dirt Road and 4×4 Road

Rates: $195 per person.  Includes: Hardtail mountain bike; guide; shuttle; lunch; and water bottle. (Two person minimum. Solo riders $60 up-charge.)
