Salida burned down three times in the late 1800’s so town officials declared that all new buildings had to built from brick.  Thanks to that decision, Salida now has one of the biggest and best-preserved downtown historic districts in Colorado.  On the Salida Town Tour, we ride cruiser bikes through the historic district and along the interpretive bike trail.  We will tailor this ride to what the group wants to see.

Each town tour includes lively stories about the legends and history of the area.  For history buffs, we offer a special historical bicycle tour of downtown Salida.  Riding fun cruiser bikes, we roll slowly through downtown and learn about the history of the valley, the railroad, the downtown district, the brothels, the gunfights, the ghosts and more.

This ride follows the city streets, but is great for families with children because it’s slow paced, there are no hills and we can stop anytime for a cold drink or snack.
